Kate Marshall is a Michigan native and 30 year Petoskey resident. She received her MFA in theatre from Wayne State University. After moving to Petoskey, she and her husband Justin Rashid founded American Spoon Foods. She began painting 15 years ago - moving from acrylics to oil, which has become her preferred medium. She currently studies with renowned artist Stuart Shills.
She has participated in group shows at Three Pines Studio in Cross Village and Crooked Tree Arts Center in Petoskey. In 2008, Three Pines Studio hosted her first solo exhibition. Her work has received awards at North Central Michigan College and Crooked Tree Arts Center's Juried Fine Arts Exhibition.
