Alessi, an Italian Design Factory, began in 1921 by Giovanni Alessi as a workshop for the creation of brass and nickel silver plates. As an Italian Design Factory, Alessi views themselves as a “Research Lab in the Applied Arts” taking large scale industrial production of houseware to the next level, designing with modernity, ingenuity and artistic sensibilities. Alessi does not hire in-house designers but rather continuously collaborates with the world’s best designers and architects to create new products for the home. Today, Alessi products can be found in permanent museum collections more than any other design firm.
